River Nene Cottages are three self catering holiday cottages in an old Grade 2 Listed converted barn that was originally built in 1805. We are located on the banks of the River Nene (Lock 29) in the small hamlet of Water Newton just outside Peterborough and just off the A1 heading north towards Wansford and Stamford, Lincolnshire.
This has 2 wonderfully comfortable double bedrooms that everyone without fail comments positively about how well they sleep here. It has a large walk-in shower bathroom with an electric shaver point and radiator, and under unit cupboards galore for your many personal items.
This is very similar albeit a very different colour scheme from the navy blues and oranges of Barley Cottage. This one is greens and pinks which happens to be the colours of our Civil Partnership which took place in 2009 at Soho Hotel, Richmond Mews, London, not to be confused with The Soho House company.
This cottage is a 1 bedroom cottage that we keep free of dogs to cater for people who are hypoallergenic. The cottage is on the first floor of the barn building and has views across to the poolside gardens.

Each cottage has been decorated in individual themes that lend themselves to the traditional building they're within. We have resisted painting everything white as we believe our 'time-wharp' experience will have you in a relaxing ratrace disconnect while staying with us.
Only guests staying with us are welcome to make full use of the pool and gardens of Mill House, as well as the river bank for fishing and launching paddle boards and canoes, or indeed oneself if wild swimming.
A lot of guests have talked about us being such a hidden gem, one, one wouldn't expect to come across that is so tranquil, beautiful in its location, and hosted by wonderful Antipodean hospitality. All you have to do is read our online Reviews to gain a sense of who and what we are about.
Unlike most holiday cottages we operate a very flexible booking policy throughout the year so do have a look at this carefully. The longer you stay, the better the daily rate is for you.
